Message	will have a different best case perfect gearing. What you will find with lower gearing is that all the gears are closer together and where you might find yourself needing to down shift with higher rear end gearing you could still be in the power band with the lower gearing ;0) Also I have found the factory tachs are about 500 rpm off on average and you may be able to rev higher then you are thinking.
